im way too into the holidays lately. (Freshly Made Sketch #7)

so lately i can't get enough of christmas music, the idea of christmas, the smells of christmas, etc. i have decided to create christmas cards for everyone this year. i have planned to do this the past 2 holiday seasons and bought supplies to do so, but didn't follow through with it. so, this year i am starting early and i am excited about it. i have been walking around campus (i go to college) listening to christmas music through my pandora app on my phone. i just finally entered into the fancy phone world and purchased a samsung galaxy s2 epic 3g touch. that is the longest name for a phone. anyways i am in LOVE with it and my favorite thing about it is my pandora app heh. so last night my pal casey and i joined forces to create cards for the freshly made sketches sketch of the week. here is the sketch layout.

here is what i came up with!

let me start by telling you that i have never used ivory cardstock to make a card. i always use black or kraft. i was sooooo out of my element with this ivory cardstock but i am overall pleased with how it looks. i used diagonal striped patterned paper for the strip down the middle. i attached green polka dot scalloped edges to that. i cut out the peppermint scalloped circle from some patterned paper and placed it on dimensionals. i cut out the stocking, snowman, and tree from patterned paper and placed those on 2 dimensionals so it would stand off the paper twice as much as the scalloped circle. then i stamped the merry...merry... stamp in gold ink along the edge of the scalloped edge. finally i tied green ribbon around it and thats it! i cant wait to start making more christmas cards. this one was rough for me but i have so many ideas for the next one! i want to thank all the ladies from freshly made sketches that have already began to support my blog. it makes all the difference to know that people are actually looking at my cards and making positive (or negative) comments. it is nice to be a part of this community of paper crafters!
